4. Direction for use of Selvaged cotton Gauze Bandages
• Clean and prepare the wound as per standard protocol.
• Open the package and remove the sterile dressing.
• After applying the necessary primary dressing, cover with the end of the Conforming Bandage dressing, and then wrap the remainder of the bandage around the area to secure and prevent movement of the primary dressing. Bandage should be wrapped with minimal tension to keep the primary dressing in place, and so that the Conforming Bandage stretches and clings to itself. Overlap previous area by 1.5 - 2 inches, and smooth after each layer. The finished wrap should be firm but not overly tight. There should be no discomfort. Secure with tape to prevent the Conforming Bandage from unwrapping.
• Change the dressing as required, at least every 24 hours. Change sooner if there is exudate strike-through. If healing does not progress, consult with your medical professional.
